Many yoga students (and quite a few yoga teachers!) find the shoulder girdle to be quite mysterious. Strain and other shoulder issues can be caused by injury, repetitive movement or habit (such as computer work), structural misalignments from scoliosis or kyphosis, and can be challenging to work with. Join well-known instructor Lauri Nemetz to learn the anatomy of the shoulder and gain an understanding of how the rhythm of movement in this area can impact your asanas, from raising your arms in Warrior One and supporting your weight in Downward-Facing Dog. Explore ways to strengthen the shoulder and how to increase range of motion in areas of restriction. The workshop will be a mix of learning through exploration, partner work, and asana practice. All levels welcome! Lauri is a YA Provider, and this workshop will qualify for CEUs.
